Calm coastal café filled with marina light
The redesign of Moka Café in Mandurah embraces its marina-front setting to craft a space that reflects light, openness and coastal calm. The brief was to bring the outside in, capturing the sense of water, sky and gentle breezes while supporting the everyday rhythms of café life. Light tones, soft washes of colour and a layout mindful of flow combine to deliver a welcoming space that feels both fresh and grounded.

Grounded in soft tones, natural light and structural simplicity
Where colour, light and layout honour setting and function.
The material palette draws from coastal inspiration. Crisp whites provide a clean background that reflects light deeply into the space. Subtle shades of soft blue echo the marina’s water hues while touches of green reference the surrounding natural greenery. Joinery is minimal and modern, allowing the view and environment to remain the focus. Flooring is chosen for durability yet remains light-toned, maintaining brightness even during evening service. Large glazing emphasises openness and connection to the waterfront, while simple lighting balances ambience and clarity. Every element contributes to a calm, inviting and functional café environment.
