Infused with street-art spirit & urban warmth

The design for Godzilla Kare brings authentic Japanese curry into a compact, character-rich setting within the bustling Yagan Square Market Hall. This project transforms a 20 m² space into a vibrant pocket of flavour and personality. By drawing on elements of Japanese street culture and bold design gestures, the interior creates a sense of energy and intimacy, giving diners the sense of stepping into a hidden eatery tucked away in the back-streets of Tokyo.

A palette of contrast, texture and thoughtful detailing

Where urban art, refined finishes and considered layout define the mood.
The material palette balances warm timber tones with black surfaces to echo the design language of its sister venue next door. Wall-to-wall rakugaki artwork introduces lively visual texture, while timber and dark finishes ground the interior in a sense of warmth and subtle sophistication. Bar seating is arranged for efficient service yet retains a sense of privacy. Lighting is gentle but focused, heightening depth and highlighting both artwork and culinary presentation. The compact spatial plan respects functionality and flow while maintaining a strong visual identity rooted in heritage and contemporary style.
