RYA Accountants, located at 92 & 94 Outram Street in West Perth, recently underwent a remarkable transformation designed by BHO Interiors. The client’s vision was to convert a charming Victorian-style house into a modern contemporary office space capable of accommodating approximately 13 staff members while preserving the building’s historical significance. This project required a delicate balance of maintaining the essence of the original architecture while infusing modern design elements to create a functional and aesthetically pleasing workspace.
BHO Interiors began the design process by carefully assessing the existing Victorian features that added character and charm to the property. The antique fireplace, intricate ceiling roses, and exquisite Jarrah timber flooring were all retained, ensuring that the rich history of the building was respected and highlighted within the new design. These elements provided a beautiful contrast to the modern updates, creating a unique blend of old-world charm and contemporary sophistication.
To modernise the interior, BHO Interiors introduced striking features such as concrete-rendered walls, which offer a sleek, industrial feel, and 3.5-meter high glass walls that foster a sense of openness and connectivity within the office. The expansive glass not only maximises natural light but also enhances the overall spaciousness of the interior, allowing staff to enjoy an invigorating work environment. A stunning Bianco Carrara marble reception desk serves as a focal point, exuding elegance and professionalism while beautifully complementing the light veneers used throughout the office.
In addition to the interior enhancements, careful attention was paid to landscaping and the building’s exterior. Fresh paint was applied to the façade, revitalising the Victorian aesthetic while ensuring it aligns with modern sensibilities. The exterior landscaping was thoughtfully designed to create a welcoming atmosphere for clients and staff alike, inviting them into the sophisticated space.
The selection of designer furniture pieces was another crucial aspect of the design. Each piece was chosen not only for its aesthetic appeal but also for its functionality, ensuring that the workspace remains comfortable and conducive to productivity. The result is an office environment that balances the elegance of its Victorian roots with the practicality of contemporary design, creating a harmonious space for RYA Accountants to thrive.
