Tucked within The Rendezvous Hotel in Scarborough, Solace is a day spa designed to transport guests the moment they arrive. Brought to life by BHO Interiors, the space is a masterclass in sensory design, carefully balancing contrast, texture, and tone to reflect the essence of stillness.
The journey begins at the entry, where sunlit stone and raw timber details offer a warm, grounded welcome. Bright and open, this front-of-house palette captures the natural beauty of the coastline outside, creating a seamless link between beachside energy and spa tranquillity.
From there, guests are drawn into the heart of Solace, a moody, cocoon-like interior where time seems to soften. BHO Interiors used layered lighting, curved forms, and deep finishes to envelop the senses, creating an atmosphere that feels private, indulgent, and intentionally slow. It’s a space where whispers echo softly, movement is gentle, and design serves as both background and balm.
Function was as carefully considered as form. Each treatment room was designed with flow in mind, allowing therapists to move with ease while preserving the guest’s sense of peace. Every material, from the coolness of the tiles underfoot to the softness of linen drapery, was selected to evoke deep relaxation and tactile richness.
