Godzilla Kare by Hiss & Smoke, located in the vibrant Yagan Square Market Hall, brings the authentic flavours of Japanese curry to Perth. Positioned directly across from its sister company, Hiss & Smoke—one of Perth’s most celebrated Yakitori-style Japanese restaurants—Godzilla Kare offers a unique blend of culinary tradition and bold design inspired by Japan’s dynamic street culture.

The main wall is adorned with rakugaki, a form of Japanese street art, creating a lively and visually engaging atmosphere. This artistic element plays a key role in setting the mood, giving diners a sense of being transported to the backstreets of Japan. The close-style bar seating mimics the intimate, tight-knit dining spaces commonly found in traditional Japanese eateries, fostering a cozy environment for patrons.

The interior design incorporates a balanced mix of black and wood finishes, echoing the aesthetic continuity with Hiss & Smoke next door while offering a distinct character of its own. The minimalist yet warm tones of the black and wood palette are thoughtfully chosen to complement the bold flavours of the curry dishes, creating an experience that is both visually and gastronomically satisfying.
